Let It Be Easy
Can It Be Easy?
This is a question I have asked myself a lot recently. Many of us believe that our goals will only be achieved through blood, sweat and tears, something I for one can relate to. However, there is an alternative, you can achieve your goals with ease and gentleness.
Imagine...
You can set yourself up for success, growing your impact in life and work. The foundation to success architecture is having the right goal.
The right goal is one that resonates strongly and feels good. It should feel fun and light to pursue this goal. Such goals are effective because they tap into your passions, your energy and utilise your strengths.
I am a work in progress when it comes to this but I am getting better at it. Undoing old patterns and building new ones takes time and a different way of thinking and therefore doing. Step by step I am shifting this pattern and finding a way of being that is more at ease.
You too can do this. Life can be hard enough, give yourself a break and start building your success architecture.
Start with creating ‘gift goals’ rather than ‘should goals’. A ‘should goal’ is one that brings a sense of ‘should’ rather than authentic inner interest. ‘Gift goals’ reflect your calling, your unique path – they don’t come from the external pressures of society, culture, family or friends.
Gift goals are as joyful to pursue as to achieve. Should goals can often feel like a burden and they are hard to sustain motivation for. You often have to push towards a should goal but with gift goals it is as if there is a magnetic pull towards them.
What could you bring into your life that would bring you happiness & satisfaction to improve your well-being?
Be specific - detail helps to bring clarity (this may be a good time to try journaling – read more here)
Write them down, draw them or even create a vision board
Share them - accountability is not always a bad thing
Once you are clear on what you want to do, you need to make it happen. Micro-steps or micro actions are things that require minimal effort, motivation, energy and ability. By making micro commitments you are more likely to be consistent in doing them and so more likely to build a habit.
