What do you do with ease?
I was thinking about this yesterday - I was playing about after my yoga practice having a go at handstands. I can remember, as a child, handstanding everywhere and anywhere, even walking on my hands.
Now...well let’s just say I don’t do them everywhere and anywhere and if I happen to walk on my hands there would probably be a bit of screeching as it’s likely to mean I’m not in control of the handstand!
All that said, I know that if I approach a yoga posture with ease rather than grasping to ‘achieve’ it or do it perfectly (whatever that really means), it is so much easier! Sometimes the more we try to be or do something the harder it is, if we just relax a little it can be easier.
I also used the term ‘playing about’ to describe what I was doing. That made me think about play. At the moment my twitter feed is filled with teachers sharing photos of what their classrooms look like as they excitedly wait for their pupils to return and I’ve seen some amazing play ideas and wonderful imaginative spaces. When do we stop playing?
I love the definition of play as ‘time spent without purpose’, things we do, experiences we have where we lose track of time. When was the last time you did something without purpose?
So what did you used to do with ease? What could you start doing or do more of?
What sort of activities are ‘play’ for you?
What do you do with ease?
Let me know!
